During a care call, a CareSync Health Assistant asked a member how things were going with her blood sugar levels. The member explained she was unable to monitor her sugar because the pharmacy was telling her she needed a prescription for her test strips and glucometer, but she couldn’t locate the prescription.
The pharmacy didn’t offer to call the member’s doctor to ask for the prescription, and the member hadn’t followed up with her doctor.
The Health Assistant offered to call the doctor’s office for her and requested that prescriptions for a new glucometer and test strips be sent to the pharmacy. The request was handled immediately and the prescriptions were filled.
The member was very thankful CareSync took action and resolved her issue. Now she has what she needs and can give the doctor important measurements for monitoring the effectiveness of her medications.
