Wow! What a busy week for the CareSync team. A bunch of us flew to Silicon Valley, where we participated in a number of events at the Health 2.0 Conference in Santa Clara, California. It was a busy week with lots of coming and going, and an incredibly interesting time to be at a healthcare IT conference...you know, with the government shutting down halfway through, and all.
All that aside, it was a fantastic week for all of us, and we met some great people who are really excited about what we're working on.
Amy kicked off the event as a participant in the Health 2.0 Code-a-thon: Power to the Patient. Her team took first place in the Financial Information and Explanation of Benefits Category, with "WTF! Denied?" where they built an Explanation of Benefits (you know, those ridiculously impossible to read summaries you get from your insurance company after a claim has been processed?) that a patient could actually understand. Imagine that! Being able to understand your healthcare information. Check out the Slideshare of their caffeine-filled, around the clock work by clicking here.
Later in the weekend, Amy presented at the Patients 2.0 pre-conference portion of the event, demoing CareSync, and presenting on the importance of managing information between visits. You can see for yourself in this video!
There were a handful of pre-conference events, and Amy and I were invited to sit in on the DC to VC event. It was fascinating, and there were all kinds of startups who were pitching to the packed audience of local investors. If you're interested, click here for a good wrap-up of the event.
Lisa and I held down the fort, er, the booth, and were demoing CareSync the entire time the exhibit floor was open. And more times than not, even after it closed. We were able to spread the CareSync word to hundreds of people, and it was fascinating to see how our solutions solved for a problem for everybody we talked to. It truly didn't matter if you were a patient, a CEO of a hospital, a CFO of a large insurance provider, or an employer looking for benefits to provide employees as a perk: CareSync truly is a solution for everybody.
Amy presented a 2nd time over the course of the week, this time during the main conference. The track was called Connecting the Dots: Tools for Extended Care Teams, and Amy focused the very short 3 minute CareSync demo around having records, and being able to easily share them with the people who need to see them. The response? More nodding. Check out the official video from Health 2.0 TV.
The week was a smashing success for CareSync, and we've really enjoyed building the relationships with the people we met at this fun, energetic conference. We are looking forward to more opportunities to participate in the Health 2.0 events in the near future!
