Hello there, and welcome to CareSync!
CareSync is a family health record that collects, organizes, stores, and allows you to selectively share your health information.
We strongly believe that by owning and controlling your family's healthcare information, you will save time, money, and energy by not reentering the same data over and over again. And even more importantly, you'll be an empowered patient. Empowerment leads to better overall outcomes and quality of life. And that's what it's all about.
Now that you've created your account, we'll walk you through the first few steps to get you started.
When you first log in, you're taken to your Summary View. It's your healthcare profile page, and really, the place where you can catch a glimspe of your meds, providers, Care Team, documents, allergies, health conditions, & more, and navigate easily to the different parts of CareSync. This view shows your most recent activity, and you can easily navigate to the users in your CareSync family.
We think a great first step is to fill in a bit more of your profile. Click Personal Information to add in your date of birth, address, birthday, and blood type. This is where you can add your photo, as well.
Now let's add some emergency contacts.
Click on the Emergency Contacts icon, and enter in the information.
To add additional emergency contacts, click the Add button. If you've got them all entered, just click Done, which will take you back to your Summary View.
Adding Family Members
Since CareSync is a family health record, this is the perfect time to start adding in your family members.
Click the Add to Your Family button on the left side of the screen, and you'll be given an opportunity to add people to your CareSync family. In some cases, it might be someone who you will be taking care of, like a child, spouse, parent, or even a next door neighbor. In others, you might be reaching out to a friend or family member to help take care of you. This is the place to do that:
In this example, we're adding someone we'll be taking care of. Simply type in the information, and click Done.
One of the really great things about CareSync is how there are all kinds of databases working "under the hood" of the application to make the most out of your healthcare data. Our provider's database is no exception.
From your Summary Page, click on Providers, and choose Add a Provider. Type in your physician's last name, and the city he's located in, and quickly populate your provider section with all of his info. No data entry, no pulling out the address book to find his fax number...it's all there for you!
Once you've found him in the database, select the name, and add any information that might not be included. Select Save Provider, and now he's documented in your health record.
Getting Started on Your Health Profile
Setting up your health profile is incredibly simple with CareSync. From the Summary View page, you can add in Medications, Health Conditions, Allergies, and more.
Just like with providers, powerful databases help you enter your information quickly. This gives you better, more accurate data to share with your providers and your Care Team.
As you've probably seen, it's really easy to get started with CareSync. It's truly a powerful tool to help you (and your family) manage your healthcare information. We will have a series of posts going into greater detail for some of the specific areas of CareSync, but this tutorial should get you well on your way with owning your healthcare data.
